A PEP is a person who is (or was) assigned for a high designation in Kuwait, overseas, or in an International organization, such as:
* Heads of State and Government, Ministers and Vice-Governors, Heads of Government Bodies and Public Bodies and their Deputies
* National Assembly Speaker and members of the National Assembly, as well as a senior administrative position in an international organization (directors - deputy directors - members of the board of directors)
* Holds the rank of Major General and above in military establishments
* Ambassadors / consular whether inside or outside Kuwait
* Senior executives of state-owned companies (Executive managers and their deputies).
* Ruling Family with senior government and public positions.
* President of (Court of summary justice, Court of main instance, Court of appeal, Supreme court of appeals and Constitutional Court) and their deputies. In addition to the Public Attorney / Public Prosecutor and the Attorney General
* Political party officials “Heads of parties in any country”
* A first or second degree relative of any of the above
* Persons strongly associated with a politically exposed persons whether socially or professionally (for e.g. attorney, partner, office manager)

A person with permanent or partial impairments that lead to a lack of physical or sensory abilities and that may prevent him/her from attaining banking services fully in a similar method as with other bank customers. NBK offers special services and assistance to customers with special needs and that will require a visit to the branch in order to benefit from such services.

An individual is considered a U.S. person if he/she is:
* A U.S. citizen or holds a U.S. passport (sole or dual or multiple)
* Was born in the U.S. (unless US citizenship was withdrawn)
* A U.S. taxpayer for any other reason
* A Permanent Resident or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card/Registered Alien)
